Anyone have a spare Galaga monitor?

Postby nagamitsu » Sat Aug 20, 2016 5:41 pm

Mine has Pacman burn in anyways, but all of a sudden today it is just a flashing red blob in middle of screen.

May see if I can make it work again, but lining up a replacement just as well

WG4600? To be honest I would have to look up what normally is used in these and update the request

Any 19" CRT will work with Galaga - most of them were shipped with G07s I believe....
Donkey Kong, Burgertime, Galaga, Pac-man, Ms.Pac-man, Missile Command, Robotron, Dig Dug, Space Invaders, Arkanoid, Tempest, Raiden, Tetris

So yes, it's a G07 in there currently. There's a ticking sound when it is on, red blob with some red flashing outward to the side, and red blob stays a little while after powering off. I got a nasty shock touching a component (not a cap or anywhere near the anode). I think the monitor is toast basically.

F this machine, seriously. Who wants a Galaga? Part out or whole. Maybe I get another some day that needs much less work. I understand that there will always be repair, but considering the monitor has Pacman burn in and still not working with new flyback and HOT, plus the overall condition of the MDF cabinet.

I don't have time or the desire to just keep randomly replace parts in this monitor to try to get it to work. I suspect (due to the ticking sound) that something is shorting/arcing, or broken trace now on chassis, but it would be easier to just get a replacement working monitor! :x

How about a spare working G07-CBO chassis? :D
