WMS Mini / Cabaret designs in cad?

Postby monkeybug » Tue Apr 15, 2014 10:24 pm

Anyone know where I can get a cad file for a WMS mini? I have this crazy notion that I want to build a cabaret robotron.

Me too!

I actually sold a make trax cabaret to a neighbour.... I'm guessing if he donates for file measurement/creation we'd owe him a new cab eh?

Lay the cabinet down on paper
Trace it
Photograph it into an app
Convert to vector
resize, and clean
print it
cut it out and match up to original
adjust
send to CNC

all without destroying his original cab.

Aren't you in the U.S.? Would you mind sharing the design?

He's in the US but its an easy drive. He can ship flat pack. He does great work too. I've got a cabinet, and its smooth and nice.

I've seen his work over on the BYOAC. I'm certainly not disputing the quality. I'm just asking to see if we can save people duty charges, or even a drive across the border.

You can save duty charges - the cabinets are duty free....

We just get a group order in and someone bites the bullet. I did last week. Easy drive. No border hassle.

How does that work? I was under the impression if you paid for something, you pay duty coming back across.

Easier drive from your area, certainly. From Toronto (and parts east) not so much.

I get it - he's your buddy. That's all fine and well. His cabs look good - I'm not arguing. I'm just saying there should be other solutions rather than going south of the border.
