Shipping arcade machines?
Being newer to this gig and all, how do you guys transport multiple machines? I just won three machines at the latest auction in Toronto and I am wondering if I got myself in over my head in terms of getting them home to London.
I suppose I could take a friend and rent a uHual, and drive them back home, but being as busy as I am, I would entertain the idea of paying someone to transport them all for me with minimal effort providing the fee wasn't insane relative to renting a uhual and having to spring for pizza and beers for a buddy or two afterwards.
Any specific companies that you guys have used in the past for freight shipping? Specifically for arcade machines?

I think more and more collectors are using the u-ship auctions to arrange arcade game delivery, like in the following:

That said, there's nothing quite like an arcade game road trip, so I would second Pete's advice, at least for your first haul.

Just don't park the trailer on your lawn overnight in London or you'll get a ticket

If you rent anything, rent something like a big pickup from Enterprise...uHaul is a fucking ripoff especially with km tacked on.
I rented a Ram 2500 from Enterprise awhile back with unlimited km inside Ontario for like $60 or so.
Edit: Uhaul website shows a Toronto to London flat rate of $174 with 2 days/229km included for a 9' cube van, $183 for a 10' cube. Mad ripoff...

The problem is I won three machines. normally I would just somehow cram one machine into my SUV, but this time I have three..... And they aren't small.
I have one standard upright cabinet, one dynamo showcase cabinet, and a sega versus city cabinet.... (which I am very worried about due to the size)
I am a pretty impulsive guy, and I think the auction fever got the better of me and I went a little wild with the games, not so much in terms of money but how I am going to get these things home, and then how am I going to get these things into my basement....

Yeah that's not gonna fit even in a 2500, I had a Versus City years ago. If you know someone with a hitch on their vehicle, I'd just rent a trailer and be done with it.
Shipping is going to cost you a fair bit more, no matter what place does it...they aren't in business to lose money.
If nobody here can do it, uShip may be the way to go.
