Lighted buttons - common voltage/watts?

Postby trueno92 » Thu Jul 16, 2015 7:49 pm

I am reusing some parts from an early 90s Sega cab and the buttons are illuminated. But I don't know what to power them with!

Whats the common wattage for these? if I had a computer psu, would a 5v line work?

Not sure about the Sega cabs, but most machines the lights are on the 12VDC line I believe.

it should be 12v, the light bulbs should have a number on them though, look it up. I just pulled some out of a different cab and they were 120 so be carefull

Options:
- Find out the game it originally was and look up the manual.

- Remove a bulb, use a digital volt meter to measure the voltage going to the socket.
