Taken! Free semi-MAME'd Tempest cabinet - Markham Ontario

I'm giving away my semi-MAME'd Tempest cabinet. You just need to bring some way to get it out of my basement and to your home. Read on if you're interested. https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v350/ericball/000_0977.jpg Many many moons ago (2004) I rescued a Tempest cabinet from the curb. No monitor ...

Re: Mame

I will say the spinner on the mame is fine to play arkanoid. I just really don’t like hyperspin interface at all. Arkanoid 1 and 2 work fine. Ark Tournament maps the fire button to some other button where I have to cross my hands - so it is unplayable. I was hoping the Pandora ready made boxes were...

Re: Mame

For Arkanoid you're going to want a vertical monitor set up, so make sure whatever multi-game you put in emulates Arkanoid & supports vertical monitors (e.g. the 60-in-1 iCade Classic). Typical multi-games expect arcade hardware so your PS2 spinner won't work as it wants the raw CLK+DIR opto sig...

joystick recommendations

I'm working on a vertical MAME barcade. I've got the basic hardware (RPi0w & Dell 2007FB) and software (RetroPie 4.71 w/ lr-mame2000) working so I'm going through the games to see which are playable and which are worth playing. The plan is to have basic controls - center 8 way joystick with 2 bu...

Re: Wall-mounted Fold-up cabinet.

This sounds like a project you need to mock up out of cardboard and build on site piece by piece. Yeah, mock it up out of cardboard or foamcore before you start cutting plywood. Also get everything working (hardware & software) before cutting plywood. Match your control panel to the games you a...

prize game payout rate?

I spent the Canada Day weekend at Darien Lake, where I saw some Keymaster prize machines. I was tempted by the high value prizes (PS4, XBox One, Switch, iPad mini), but figured there had to be a catch - like any of the big prize carnival games. But the catch isn't one of skill, timing, or dumb luck....

There are commercial small arcade cabinets. Ben Heck took one and put it in a GBA style case:

Re: Anyone ever take apart a cabinet to move it?

Just remember you're going to have to do it again to get it back out!

You probably don't need a full 3-D model, just a graph paper version of the floor space should be enough.

my (100% free) iOS game is on the App Store!

Over a year ago I had an idea for a mobile game. After many delays, it is finally available on the App Store. ⋅ 100% free to play. No in-app purchases. No subscriptions. No advertising. WiFi not required. ⋅ 30 levels to complete (so far) ⋅ Built-in level creator with th...

Re: Some Arcade Newcomer Questions

There are basically two types of JAMMA PCBs - those which adhere to the standard and those with more controls than the JAMMA standard provides. Games which need more than two players with 8-way joysticks & 3 buttons each have a custom "kick" harness for the additional controls or use t...
