Basically the conversion replaces the joystick with a spinner, and that's about it. The conversion manual is in the machine but I haven't bought it so I don't have it here. From glancing at the manual, it seems that a handful of eproms are replaced, as well as the joystick. The locks are still in pl...

Two Tigers Tron conversion

Anyone know anything about cabs that were converted from Tron to Two Tigers? I've got a line on one where the sound has died out and turned to crackling over the years, where both back panels are locked and would need to be drilled out, but otherwise looks pretty good. What would you guys pay for on...

Update: annoyingly, the coin door was locked and didn't come with a key, so I had to unscrew the locking bar from the back. There is indeed a switch on the coin door. Opened that up, fiddled with it a bit. The door seems to close the switch correctly, so I tried it again. BOOM! Working Asteroids mac...

I did check the back of the cabinet for a switch and didn't find one. I haven't even opened the coin door but I'll look at that too.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!

Oh, good question. I checked the fuse, it seems fine. The bit of metal in the middle of the fuse is intact and it's not black or anything, so I thought it was probably okay.

Asteroids problem

Hey guys -- long time no see. Between work, moving to another city (Oakville), writing, and a bunch of other crap, I've been away from here for quite a while. But I just acquired an Asteroids game in its original cabinet, and I'm wondering if people here would help me out a bit to get it working aga...

Xybots was indeed Atari. I believe it was ported to the Lynx (maybe the Jaguar?)

Sinistar was _maybe_ a little rare, but Missile Command seemed to be everywhere when I was a kid. I knew full well how much I sucked at it.

All-time best arcade games "you've never played"

Not that I don't like to see some old favourites discussed now and again. But really, Sinistar? Q-Bert? Gyruss? These are games I've never played?

My Santa dropped me an Atari Age gift cert and some sweet Nintendo trading cards. They're still packaged and I don't know whether to open them and reduce their value... but they do have gum in them! That might just turn the tide.

Thanks Angel! Merry Xmas all.

No one wants to play Sega with Harrison Ford

The SMS makes it into the mainstream modern art movement. No one wants to play Sega with Harrison Ford Take a moment to look around Brandon Bird's site too. I don't know about anyone else, but an artist who paints a giant squid fighting a tyrannasaurus rex riding a sperm whale is an artist who's pai...

I'm now a mattbin fan  Following him around to book signings, the bathroom, wherever he goes ... there's Doc Kaos. Aw, shucks... I guess I shouldn't have said all that stuff... about... the sheep and the... anyhow. If you want to follow me into the bathroom, I'd say that's a lot worse for you ...

I'm a novelist.

But I do it just to pay the bills while I pursue my real love: working as a consultant, usually for the government, writing analysis papers and technical manuals.

I moved my last two cabs in a Matrix (with some help from bungee cords to keep the hatch somewhat closed). Surely you can manage it in a Rav. Maybe not the Offroad, but a standard cab or pin definitely.

Man, the 401 is breezy sometimes though eh?
