Me wonders too.

There is a cat making reproduction cabs on another forum... Gotta say... It's tempting.

Re: One on One Monitor workshop

I took a group workshop, it was very informative and helpful. Sadly, I've not found the time to put the knowledge obtained to much use yet, life is getting in the way. Rick has probably forgotten more than any of us will ever know about monitors. I would not hesitate to learn from him given the oppo...

Re: Raspberry pi3 with Retro pi

hooking up to a CRT via composite is pretty easy. you want to add sdtv_mode=16 to the config file, and youll have your 240p goodness. as far as i know the newest build has everything included that that single line is all you should need if memory serves correct. the biggest trick is finding an AV ca...

Re: Gonna Build Some Cabinets, Which Would You Prefer?

Capcom Cutes would be awesome as heck... they are beauties. Not sure how challenging they would be. Can see some ways one could pull it off - but they won't be easy. I like the cabaret sized stuff because it isn't as common and seems to take up less space, so you can integrate one into a room a bit ...

Re: Pac-Man + Gambling...discuss!

This seems like a natural progression to me. Also appeals to younger gamers and people who arent enticed entirely by a game of chance. Its like the anti-casino casino game. I remember when War was first offered at the casino and youd see younger people playing it and older people I spoke to found it...

https://www.amazon.ca/Ultimate-History-Video-Games-Pokemon/dp/0761536434 I recently recieved a copy or Artcade and this book linked above for a birthday gift. The stories from Atari are abundant in this book. Quite an eye opener to see what went on there at those times, as it wasnt exactly all rainb...

Re: Cold weather storage

If you have moisture concerns, there are good absorbent products you could place inside the cabinet to absorb any moisture, though they may fill up quickly. Put them in my old car for storage as well as anything padded or upholstered that I wrap in plastic gets one in there too for safe measure. Mic...

Re: cell phone plans?

I regret giving up my old phone plan, but had to switch when my jobs switched. Since then I have discovered the joy of having a phone I own 100% and getting a bit of a break, and flexibility in choosing my carrier. That said, I have a pretty good deal with Telus - Unlimited Nationwide and all that j...

Re: Anyone have a Raspberry Pi powered cabinet/bartop ?

Thanks for your reply. It just seemed a bit overwhelming all that info you listed previous to this response, but I will check it out and seek what I need to know for this to work. To get 240p you add one line to boot config: sdtv_mode=16 And you will have 240p on the 3.5mm output. Make sure you unp...

Re: Anyone have a Raspberry Pi powered cabinet/bartop ?

The Pi can be hooked up to a TV, Arcade Monitor, LCD, whatever. You're in luck, as I said right in my post - 240p via composite is possible. I believe its now as easy as adding like 2 lines to the config file. You just need a cord with the right pin out for the 3.5mm A/V connector (They aren't all t...
