well I am pretty sure he would take an offer slightly lower than the posted price which once again is around the same price. If I offered him $1900 pretty sure he would take it. I sincerely doubt it, it's most likely that he bought this from a man in Toronto who was selling red/black units for 2000...

Battery on the motherboard is just for like CMOS, it keeps BIOS time, boot passwords, etc. It's shouldn't effect any actual stuff inside the operating system. Can't speak to your other questions.
