Postby CongoBongo » Thu Dec 22, 2011 8:05 pm

If you have an iOS device, grab it before they yank it
http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/imame/id485639079?mt=8

Update: it appears to be yanked

I've been playing around with it for a few hours and the games that work play really well. Really want to pick up the iCade now though as the touch controls aren't great.

For anyone using it, I would love to hear supported games that you like. For me so far:

Tiger road
Metal slug 2
R-type
Gyruss
Rygar
Shonobi
Time pilot
Twin eagle
Viewpoint
X'aind Sleena

Wow, I haven't heard that name in ages. There was a cabinet in a crappy little mall arcade near where I grew up, and I think I was the only person to dump quarters into it. That game was crazy fun back in the day. I'll have to give it a look again to see how well it has withstood the test of time.
We don't stop playing because we get old. We grow old because we stop playing.

I had the jamma board. It's pretty unique. Here's a shot of it running in the app: http://pic.twitter.com/D1bd2xJh

Ya it's long gone. If you missed it you now need to either jailbreak or have a developer account. I've ordered the icade to use with it as most arcade games need precise controls and touch just isn't doing it.

I got the app before it was yanked. Keep us updated how the icade works with it

Got the iCade today. Works great. Very responsive. Makes for one impressive little mame machine and monitor rotation is super easy . Only complaint is that the buttons are a bit stiff but I think with a little play they will soften up. I ended up ordering an extra one as it was on sale for $50 at bed bath and beyond. If any one is interested let me know.
