I wont be buying one anytime soon (I still have my PS4 sitting on my kitchen table... unopened).

But, for those of you that bought one.... thoughts? Gripes?

Awesome controllers - they actually have an amazing "clicky" feel to them.
Turned on the Xbox One flawlessly - looks amazing.
Went through the intro for about 30 seconds and then I got an error, a checkerboard screen, another error and it shut down on me.
Now it doesn't turn on.
I've tried everything, including showing the Kinect a picture of Pamela Anderson.
Still can't get the thing turned on.

LOL as well. The games sound crunchy delicious:

(except for the last which sounds like a motorboat)

My brother in law purchased one and said he is not too impressed with it so he will be returning it. Having purchased the PS4 myself, I have to say that in my humble opinion, both systems are over priced and leave a lot to be desired. The mandatory PS4 game installation on the hard drive is absolutely horse shit. Sure you can play while the game installs but in my case with FIFA, I can only play kick off mode with a handful of teams. I have no access to the play modes until the game is fully installed and it takes a long time to boot.

Maybe I am getting old but these new systems do not have the same feel that an SNES, Genesis, Turbo Grafx 16 amongst many other systems had upon they release. I was actually excited and looking forward to what the respective company's would release next. I'll be returning my PS4 and play the 360 / PS3 until both are no longer supported.

Just my $0.02.

After having a great year, I bought both. They are two great systems with lots of potential. At this point, neither system has a killer app persay like Mario 64.

The installs are quicker than I thought.

I'm having fun with both. Like the PS3 and the Xbox 360... things won't really pick up game-wise til next summer/xmas.

I agree - they are both overpriced and for the eager beaver crowd.
I would normally wait until about a year later when the prices drop dramatically, bugs are mostly worked out, etc.
The only reason I got an Xbox One (which I had to return for a working one because it shipped dead), was that I got it for free.

A telling sign is that I went by Walmart for some hardware supplies and decided to see if they had any XBOX One's in stock. They had a whole shelf of them. During the launch of the 360 you had to stalk 18 different stores and get extremely lucky to find one in the States before February.

I can't wait until the Steam Machines come in 2014......after all, Valve is the richest game company in the world, and if they go big, it will probably be pretty amazing ;-)

This and the fact Future Shop has them available temporarly for sale on line. Shortages will be more on the PS4 side I think.

Apparently if you are affected by a bad drive, MS will offer you a free digital game download of one of 3 games if you have to send it in to them. Also people have fixed the grinding by flipping the xbox over and pounding the area over the drive a few times. Has to do with a gear that came loose during shipping.
