Hamilton - Video Game Swap - Saturday Oct 24th/2015

Postby Jehuty77 » Tue Oct 06, 2015 1:26 pm

Hi Guys

I'm hoping this is ok to post here, if not i do appologize.

We're trying to start up a local video game swap in Hamilton and looking to raise awareness. Just a small event for our first time running but the aim is to have a meet for genuine gamers and a casual atmosphere.

We're also seeking sellers to run tables.

Also Looking into hooking up an NES and having some sort of "Nintendo World Championships" tournament since we have a repro cart of it

That all being said please see the details below :)

How much is admission?
Buyers admission is FREE!
Sellers - $20 per table

Where is it?
Royal Canadian Legion Hal
435 Limeridge Rd E, Hamilton, ON, L9A 2S8

It is located across the street from Limeridge Mall. There is plenty of free parking.

What time is it?
The sale runs from 12pm-4pm.

How can I sell my items?
You purchase a full table rental for $20 (1/2 table for $15). On the day of the sale, arrive at 11am with all of your items pre-priced. You will then be assigned a table to display your items to sell. Please bring a money float & plastic bags, as you will be responsible for the money exchange at your table.

We're looking for independent sellers, Video Game Stores are also welcome to run tables but we are requiring that they do not post big banners at their tables, if they want to have business cards thats ok, but this is ment to be a casual video game swap, not a commercial event.

Are there any restaurants nearby?
We will be selling snacks (Pop, Water, Coffee, Chips, Pizza, etc) in the room, and there is also a Cantina on the main floor of the Legion that will serve lunch as well.
There is also a food court at Limeridge Mall, as well as some fast food places a few blocks away.

Is this a Cash Only sale?
Yes at this time, we only accept cash for payments. There is an ATM inside the Legion Main Hall, as well as a Scotia Bank within driving distance.

Is it accesible by bus?
Yes, there are many busses that pass by, the #25 Upper Wentworth passes by in front.

How do I pay for my table?
You can either pre-pay via Paypal or Electronic Money Transfer, or you can pay in cash at the door the day of.

Wow so this is finally happening! I should be able to go if I'm not busy that day, however that free admission is quite attractive. It'll be nice that something like this is happening more local, instead of having to drive out somewhere.

Very cool. This is within walking distance of my house, so I will probably check this out.

It was a small event, but I enjoyed it, and there was some good stuff there for sure! The smaller events have a more "community" feel to them.
Having coffee, pop, homemade bakery, chips and veggies for sale was a GREAT idea :D

Man I can't believe I missed this, and the grand opening of the new 1up games. I'm so out of the loop.
