I was hoping it would use an original PS chip, since they did the work years ago to put it all on a chip yeah? wasn't it the DVD controller for PS2 and 3? any way, if it was that and had an online store maybe, but no all around.

I never played playstation and I dont care for this system. You guys are right about the selection of games being "meh"
And yes at 129.99 Canadian I also think its overpriced.
I also read that the emulation isnt that great and games can have some slowdown issues.

The only reason id want one is for collecting purposes , but for the price it doesnt seem worth it at all.

Not sure this will really save this mini. I had this pre-ordered, it's sitting unopened in my game room. I am returning it today once I'm done with Christmas lights. For me this system is not worth the 150.00 after taxes as I'm not a PS1 fan, more of a N64 guy. Thought it might be a cool addition but can't see it getting used much, back it goes.

I was going to get one, but when I looked at the specs online, I noticed it didn't have a JAMMA edge connector. So, not for me....

I never went for any of these mini consoles. Most of the games on them I have or dont care enough to have in my collection.
The only appeal I see for serious gamers and collector type folk is if they are hacked to have a complete library.

PS2 was the jam....PS1 I wasn't really into to be honest.
But nostalgia had me on the hype train. I had pre-ordered the Playstation Classic from Best Buy upon announcement.
I later cancelled it when it got for the most part TRASHED!
I figured I'd wait to pick it up used, or on sale.
Needless to say today (Christmas) the wife had one under the tree for me.
But me never content, I had to look online as I had read online it was in the sale in the US.
Well to my surprise, Best Buy and Walmart Canada had it for $50 off, and via eBates an additional 3% if you use it.
So I've ordered two, one for my brother and I.
I'll do the "alteration" as seen online. I ordered a 32GB Lexar USB flash drive ($15) and a USB hub ($10) @ Walmart.
Should be all I need !

Yup, prices slashed for it on boxing day, er, week at bestbuy, ebgames...guess it was a christmas turkey. The price is probably more acceptable now to most especially since it's been hacked.
