FORUM SCAMMER WARNINGS

Postby Jcblu78 » Sat Oct 08, 2005 10:55 am

I got this in my CGCC mail today. :?:

From sclarke279:

I can get you a ps2 with a controller and a 2 games for $110 shipped. Plus it works great!

I never asked for a PS2. I have never heard of this person. Is this a solisitor? Did anybody else get this PM? :? If it is a solisitor, then this is the first time I have ever got one in cgcc. If this is not, then my apologies, I do not want a PS2 at this time.

This person is also trying to sell me a Sega Saturn.

Is this a topic that should make me worried?

I've had 'lurkers' trying to e-mail my hotmail account....I rarely ever check it, I use it just to sign up for cool forums.

so every now and again I find e-mails with people either wanting to buy stuff or sell me stuff.

Note to lurkers: I will not buy or sell to a non-member

Yup, shes selling me some games as well...

Everything would be fine but she won't answer questions about refrences, and will only accept a bank transfer.

Not possible, even payment isn't possible unless she sends first, since she has no refrences and has not posted.

Tried to sell me a GBA SP package, too.. a scammer, perhaps?

sclarke279, if you're out there, please give us some references first. I'm sure many of us would consider your offers if you had a previous "history" of sorts to back you up.

"They" offered up a heatware ID: clarkese

I myself looked it up, no usernames found, maybe I'm doing it wrong, can someone check?

Got it, she said its clarkse, without the extra S, one thing that confuses me is that her name is Sara, but all her heatware indicates its a HE doing all the dealing, oh, and that his name is Steve.

I got this from her:

"I can get you Wario Land, Red Alarm, and White Water for $20 shipped."

That was from a "wanted list" that I had from months and months ago.
It seems as though she's going through people's wanted lists and trying to sell them stuff.
I don't trust her one bit.

Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

That wench/bastage has some nerve trying the same crap again. The name is too similar, the circumstances too similar -- even the time of year too similar. C'mon, Hotmail account, only accepts bank transfers/EMT, selling video game stuff

Need I post a refresher course?

I'd still like to nail that ass to the wall. I can't believe (s)he is so completely retarded as to try and hit the same place twice as if we'd forget.

You are aware that "clarkse" is in San Antonio, TX, right?

this person probably just picked a name that was similar to what they're currently using as an attempt to legitemize their dealings -- but apparently didn't pay attention to his location.

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Yes, I'm not that thick that I don't check refrences, the guy's heatware states his name is Steve is some of his feedback, and that he was stationed in Austrailia.

Gimmie a break, I've been dealing for a bit longer, I'd like to think I have some common sense.

I wasn't calling you dumb, I was calling "sclarke279" dumb -- 'cos seriously, if you're going to pick someone's heatware at least pick someone from the same country.

I got the same thing, saying they have the Master of monsters game I requested. No references and cant get pics....If its not a scam (which I think it is), then the seller needs to get a camera and prove they have "all" the wants for everyone.
