CGCC Move and Update

As some are aware, we're moving the CGCC to a new host and updating the forum software. Updates on the progress will be provided here.

There was a problem backing up the database from the site where every file wound up only being 871 kB. With some hackery-pokery I managed to get into the original sites database. It's 193.5 MB.

I'm doing a test restore of that now and then will upgrade it.

During the upgrade this site will go down temporarily as the name "cgcc.ca" gets moved to the new host. Then everything will be back (probably uglier to begin with) and the new forums will be online.

Will cgcc members get an notification email of the move once happens Wouldn't want to lose anyone in the move (like toy story kidding )

We'll send out an admin email to everyone that the move is complete. But the domain name will move as well, so just one day you'll go to www.cgcc.ca and it will be all new.

I'm just writing a script that breaks the database into smaller chunks for easier restoration, but moving foward.
