More Misc. Documentaries..

Postby Davester » Tue Jun 21, 2016 7:27 am

Since there was a posting of Game related documentaries in one of the other threads, I'd thought I'd list some of the other ones that are really aren't game related but you might find interesting... (well, as a middle aged, overweight, balding guy that was raised in the 80's, I find them cool.)

Rewind This - Video tape goodness
http://buy.rewindthismovie.com/

Adjust Your Tracking - Even more VHS goodness.
http://www.adjustyourtracking.com/

Cassette - The audio medium that you grew up with. (Not yet released...)
http://www.cassettefilm.com/

So Wrong They're Right - 8-Track world tour...
http://www.8trackheaven.com/archive/doc.html

The Rep - a bunch of guys try to start up a movie theatre in Toronto...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2182187/

And for any of your retro technology reviews, there's always Techmoan's channel on your tube. (I love his RCA Selectivision Video Disc video).

As always, I recommend supporting these independent film makers but I'm pretty sure you know how to find these... um, somewhere...

OMG! OMG! Terry! That is AWESOME!!!
Thanks for the link!

I loved Cannon Films back in the VHS days!

And this reminds me of another doc that I picked up when Blockbuster closed it's door... pure violence... and by the same director

While looking for Electric Boogaloo, I came across these pretty cool docs:

Filmed in Supermarionation - a history of the people that brought you Thunderbirds...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3702706/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened? - The failed attempt to make Superman with Nicholas Cage...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2753778/?ref_=rvi_tt

Atomic Filmmakers - Hollywood's secret film studio - the U.S. Armed services film studio that shot the A-Bomb tests. (not sure if this link works...)

Happy viewing!

Now someone needs to make a doc about Mario Kassar and Andrew Vajna of Carolco Pictures!

While we're speaking of films, a lot of people don't realize that the actor who played Wilson in "Castaway" is also the same actor from the volleyball scene in "Top Gun".... 8)
