Re: What does your username/fourm handle mean?
When I was a teen, in the early days of the internet, I came up with MarzipanSamurai to use on ICQ/Mirc because I was part edgy weeaboo and part lolrandom. That shortly evolved into SamuraiSmurfette, as I needed something more gender specific, as I was tired of everyone assuming I was a dude. I went with the smurf part, as I used to be involved in the smurf collectors community, and used to vend smurf items at toy shows. And it sounds pretty catchy, so there's that.

Awesome thread -- love hearing the back stories -- thanks everyone, and thanks for starting us off, theyangman!
Mine is kind of dumb, but sometimes dumb can be a source of inspiration.
Back in 1985, CBS started airing a series starring Edward Woodward called The Equalizer. Woodward played the part of Robert McCall, a retired espionage/intelligence officer who protected innocent schmucks by visiting justice on the bad guys with his grey-haired spy skillz.
I guess you could call it a one-man version of the A-Team with a British accent, minus all the campy charm and those cool weapon-building/team building vignettes.
Needless to say, the name bugged me. You know, the Equalizer "equaled" the score. Get it? I scornfully sneered that the name was so stupid, there should be a TV vigilante spy called The Evener so he could "even" the score, too.
In 1985/1986, I entered the world of bulletin board systems thanks to the purchase of a 300 baud modem. Where handles were permitted, I signed up as The Evener as a kind of inside joke. I used the handle on BBSs into the 1990s, and eventually on Internet forums in the early 2000s like MacNN.
For whatever reason, I initially signed up to arcade forums as Colecodude/Colecomeister, but decided to consolidate all of my internet handles as The Evener late last year.
My handle avatar is taken from Elevator Action, and although it features a "bad guy," I was really interested in using it to convey the "spy" theme.

Ryu77us has been a handle I've had since the late 90's when I first got internet. I signed up for hotmail and wanted ryu@hotmail.com, was taken obviously so the alternative it suggested was ryu77us. The name has stuck ever since. My other handle most often used on forums is Dark_link-77, typically anything in the Zelda community.

Re: What does your username/fourm handle mean?
Mine is obvious. It's the name of my personal arcade and arcade youtube channel. The inspiration came from my love of fighting games and the drive to make my arcade the best that I can make it. Plus, it rolls off the tongue easily. The logo (which I will clean up to be sharper, later) is influenced from the spartan's shield, being Greek and all, was simple and was relevant as an arcade line-up side by side looks like a Spartan's Phalanx in war formation (see pic comparison)
It's cool hearing the stories behind the name, great topic

Shortened Japanese name of my favorite cartoon in the late 90's paired with my favorite god of thunder.
