Canadian toycon today in Burlington

Postby menace » Sun Sep 11, 2016 6:34 am

Just a heads up in case anyone wants to go--from 10am to 3pm 3063 south service rd (holiday inn)

Usually good for some 80's toys/lego/arcade games etc.

I think of it as all those yard sales I missed when I was a kid

Just got back from it now - picked up a working boombox for $35 and a massive token collection for $10.
Free admission, tons of toys, no where near as expensive as other collectible shows by far...

And the song that was first on the tape that was in the machine was "Tricky" by Run DMC ;-)

Sure thing - I've gone through the first bag so far, and they're almost all from the US (lots of weird names, some Aladdin's Castle). I'm hoping that the other bag (which looks better) may have more Canadian stuff....

Rats......I have neither of those (all the tokens are from American arcades).

Great idea. I'll do that shortly.
In the meantime, I actually polished up the boombox and wired up an old BlackBerry Bluetooth Stereo receiver into the input jacks on the back and hid it in the battery compartment. I paired my Android phone to it and now I can play all the 80s music on my phone remotely on the boombox (no need for a jukebox now.....;-) ).
