Honestly, being a businessman does NOT necessarily qualify you to make decisions for a country. I don't think he's a good choice, and running a government like a business won't work. Making practical decisions in government to save money CAN work....sometimes. But many choices in government are not about the financial cost, but instead the benefit or detriment of the citizens and I don't think that's something O'Leary cares about.

We're talking about a man who, as stated, profiteered to get where he was and with questionable ethics. In addition, he put together a task force to "decide if he was a viable candidate" or something like that. It came off as a business/branding decision and that's not something that's good for the average Canadian.

The Liberals don't appear to be very good for this country. The Conservatives don't appear to be either, especially if he's the candidate. Everyone seems to be afraid of the NDP, who honestly need to adjust their platform to something other than "The Really Liberal Liberals". Realistically the Liberal party are middle of the road tax and spend Conservatives and the NDP are actual liberals.

What we need is a legitimate Libertarian party, one that isn't as ridiculous as the one now that wants to do away with government. One that wants to cut spending...but cut it conscientiously, in ways that limit overspending and benefit the people. A streamlining if you will. And a government that can still function, rather than the gutting the current party wants to give, getting rid of whole departments. Ridiculous. Instead, one that limits laws that have loopholes, taxes when needed, taxes equally across wealth distribution lines, eliminates tax loopholes, and generally considers the welfare of the people over corporate greed. A little optimistic, I know. We don't have a candidate like that. It would be a nasty uphill struggle. But that's what we NEED now. We certainly aren't going to be better off with more Trudeau or a crusty covering of O'Leary.

I think we need someone like Mike Myers to run for office.
Wait.....that'd be a schwing vote, wouldn't it?
