Motherboard repair?

Hey guys, so my nephew spilled water on my alienware laptop , did some testing seems like it's the MB , anyone here know where or who to go for fixing no warranty and dell can't help me.. Jason? :P

With modern motherboards these days, they are essentially FRUs (field replaceable units).
In other words, you replace the whole motherboard instead of fixing it....

that's what i'm afraid of, but the only place in the US that offer them, omg.. half the price of what the laptop is worth now

Yup - I wouldn't be surprised.
Basically when a laptop's mobo dies, you just get a new laptop....
Now this is not necessarily a bad thing - shopping for a laptop gives men the same feeling that shopping for shoes gives women.

I just picked up an XPS 13 for the portability, but i do miss that thing such a tank, zero issues in 4 years,, than this... ugh

Yeah - I love my Alienware laptop too - amazing build quality, performance and reliability for sure :D
