Time for a CGCC Glow Up

Okay, I know what it looks like - I've been away for several months, and as soon as I show up again, I turn into a busy-body, but hear me out.
This place used to be pretty active, and I think we've all noticed that activity has dropped significantly, and several long-term members (b1buwg97, ancient games, Bish 500, Nickv, et al) haven't been around in a while.
"The New Home of CGCC" landing page cites "updates coming," but it hasn't matched its former glory for a while now.
I'd be glad to post some video game related content in the form of articles rather than having them hidden on a personal blog, for example. I bet others would like to do the same as well.
In other words, I think there's enough interest here to spark a Glow Up, and hopefully have that lead to some positive karma/momentum.
Let's start by making the landing page look like it did before the forum migration:
https://web.archive.org/web/20140331073 ... //cgcc.ca/
I loved the landing page for that snapshot of activities related to classic gaming collecting in Canada - new members, recent posts, reviews, high scores, articles, "In the News," and more. There's some great content in the articles and it would be great to make it more accessible to users. Let's get Google crawling a populated landing page again so the community is more visible to potential new members.
I also think we could put an RSS feed to great use on the main page - could we create a scrolling RSS feed that gets info from new.google.ca? I've seen similar feeds put to great use on sites. Land on the main page, and quickly catch up on scrolling headlines related to arcade and gaming topics culled from news.google and served up for users directly.
Can we do this?
