I love Scarborough!

Postby McMean » Mon Feb 01, 2010 6:55 pm

OK, now that I've got your attention (considering only Scarborough dudes would be reading this with a title like that) I need your help.

Give me a dead-easy landmark right off the 401 on Morningside, Neilson, or Markham road. I need to arrange a meeting that I won't actually be at, and need to tell both parties 'Meet at Xxxx' or whatever. I know, sounds weird, but help a brother out.

Needs to be right off the highway, very easy to get to, parking lot visible, not likely to get shot, easy to get back on the highway, etc.

Thanks all you Scarbarbarians! You rock!

Quite the racket...fix up pins at school, load em up with them drugs your students get you, get 2 people you've never met to exchange the goods. Walk away with the money and nobody is the wiser...

Hmm I better check my Phoenix again...

Oh crap, I just let the cat outta the bag didn't I?

Hmmmm, theres a "Shoeless Joes" just north of the highway on Markham. with a big parking lot behind it (but not easy to see from the road)

South of 401 on Markham, there isn't an "easy to find" type place that isn't busy, or real close to tuxedo court.

There is a harvey's/swiss chalet in a plaza north on morningside (east side of morningside). that parking lot isn't too busy all the time.

Problemw ith Scarlem landmarks, lots of smalls trip malls, with busy parking lots. I'd say the lot at my work (Markham and ellesmere) but it is usually rammed full.

I'd say the Wal Mart on Miler. Its where the move theater is, as is the Boston Pizza and Kelsey's. Its like 2 minutes off the hi-way @ Morningside.

I agree with the Walmart parking lot. Lots of space, always busy, little (not none but little) risk of gun play.

I'm from Scarlem, and for what its worth it aint that bad.
I mean sure it isn't some lil small town....but so long as you stay out of the "bad" parts it isn't really that rough a place.

The Wal-Mart parking lot is big, busy, full, etc - you should have no issue. Not to mention I'm sure if the person knows the area they will know that Wally Mart.

Now that is a meeting spot!

401/kennedy = Kennedy Commons shopping mall.
401/McCowan = Scarborough Town Center
401/Pt Union = Nothing much there but a McDonalds on the SE corner (easy to not get lost)

I checked Wikipedia and could not see any reference to Poutine being a Peterborough favourite?

Connection has been made... shipment should be arriving Saturday sometime - that's all I can tell you - thanks for the help, Scardudes.

Yeah, I was also confused by the poutine thing - they sell it here, but I don't know that it's special.

It has something to do with the deep fry oil. I think there is a city by-law or something that says you can only change your oil every 10 years.
