Ok, so check out this Starcade video gameshow, at 14:45, there's a cavern near the "chomping doors" where Dirk walks over lumps to get across some green slime, avoiding tentacles?? What? I've never seen that level, is it on the original laser disc only?....
Here's the clip....14:45

It's a deleted scene, it wasn't used in the finished game. I guess Starcade either got an early review copy of the game, or was sent early video footage to air separately on the show. It is playable in Dragon's Lair 20th Anniversary, along with several other deleted scenes as a bonus feature.
Here's a bunch of alternate or deleted footage.

Gameguy,
I think you're right, Starcade must have obtained early video of the game.
I guess it's like the scene in the "attract mode" where the Giddy Goon gets sliced in half as he's floating up in mid air in the opening of a spiral stairwell, it's never been in the actual game either, so it's interesting that it still
made it to the "attract" sequence.

Apparently you would need the 2.0 ROMS or above.

That scene with the Giddy Goon is another deleted one that's playable in the 20th Anniversary Edition. It was pretty cool finding all these deleted scenes when this release first came out. I have the PC version of this release.

Awesome, I have that 20th anniversary PC edition too, I guess it's been a while since I've seen the bonus material
I remember talk of Don Bluth putting together a Dragon's Lair movie, which
I thought was a fun idea, and has potential, but no news has been released
yet I don't think. Might be on the back burner.
