SF2 CPS1 PCB to Ghouls n' Ghosts Conversion?

Postby ChanceKJ » Mon Jan 09, 2017 12:37 pm

Has anyone tried this with any kind of success?

I'm working on a GnG project and will soon be looking for a PCB. I have a couple spare CPS1 boards laying around a Hyper Fighting and a SF2:CE. If anyone can and has done this conversion please let me know.

Is there an ENG. translation on the JAP. Vers? Some reason you went that way? Just wanted that one or was it due to technical reasons or what parts you had on hand?

Im actually working on making a switch so that i can go back and forth from the english and japanese versions, I am going to do the european english as well as Japanese, the usa version has more checkpoints and itakes it easier.

Its currently in my Strider cabinet but i will be installing a Jamma switcher so i can go between the two games.

I've been talking with Brian over on KLOV about it, (he did Tighe's). Looks like the best case is i'll ship him my CPS PCB, he'll mod it for me 9With a selector switch for the 3 different rom sets!), and then he'll ship it back.

I'll report back once i have it in my hands, With pictures :)

I have been talking to him as well, I figure I am going to try to make the the switch myself, It shouldn't be too hard.

I sent Brian my board, and he sent it back to me (pic below). It has a little switcher box which allows me to load up the US, JAP, and International ROM set as i choose. :D It's been living in the game since i finished the project. LOVE it!

How can you not be a SF2 fan when you worked on optimizing the assembly code in the game!? Come on man! Sheesh.

You don't have to like a project that you are a developer on......in fact, that describes about half of all projects I've worked on
