VFVL - S2 - Game 5 - 1943 Kai - Battle of Midway - Jan 21 to Feb 4

Postby The Evener » Sun Jan 22, 2017 8:40 pm

First, there was Neptune. Then there were ladders. Next, cherries, and last week, keys. This week for the fifth game, we take to the skies for the "Battle of Midway"

1943 Kai - Battle of Midway

A favourite shmup from Capcom, in this game you're in the middle of the Second World War. How many enemy planes can you shoot down to earn the title of "high score champion?"

SETTINGS:
Difficulty: 1 (Easiest)
Continues?: No

Season 2 stretches into June, but feel free to drop for any game through the season to see if you can get bragging rights as high score champion on CGCC and MAACA. Play one game, a few, or play the rest from here on out -- just post a message to say "you're in" and start aiming for the top!

Hahaha
Wait until you see my score.....I shall crush your ego into a dust so fine, that its very existence shall be the subject of conjecture among theoretical physicists.
I know it's not much for trash talk, but it's all I got......;-)

Someone asks for help, and you post a video featuring guys with bad English accents -- what gives?

Try MAME OS X:

http://mameosx.sourceforge.net/

It says it needs 10.4.x, but I have it running on my laptop with 10.7.x. It's a bit weird since, once you launch it, it shows all MAME titles, but naturally you need to add the roms.

The user guide is here:

http://mameosx.sourceforge.net/document ... tents.html

Game on!

That's because it's funny

BTW - MAME OS X does really suck (it's a very basic MAME with flakey/limited game support that developers gave up on back in 2009), and the experience largely depends on what model of Apple computer you have (on many newer Macs, expect it to crash or freeze your Finder/desktop).

That's why my main MAME box is a showcase pedestal with a Mac Mini Server (Corei7, dual SSD)....but not running OSX...it runs Windows 10 + MAME :D

229,820 !

I think I completed the 3rd mission. Or was it the first two missions. Anyway, I have a better idea how to advance and not FAIL the darn missions. Ugh, that's annoying.

... and, YEAH, you better start flying some more missions, EveNOTgoodenuf! 8-)

Nice set-up! I still have MacMAME on my older iMac -- at least for 8-bit stuff, that version has been rock-solid for me. In fact, I never bothered to look up "new" versions of MAME software on Apple computers until I tried to run MacMAME on a new laptop, but it wouldn't load. Then I discovered that, in the intervening years, MAME on Macs had become a wasteland. Pretty sad, but like you said, there's the option of installing and booting into Windows for MAME, etc.
