tonight I Hooked up xbox 360 in SD mode via composite cable to CRT TV to play a low res game Street fighter 3 Third strike in native 4:3 but, looks like doo doo. lots of jaggies and pulsing and flashing, shaky jumping, all over the image. I assumed the menu system etc would look bad but not the actual game, Tv is a Toshiba Crt 20 inches. (when I play this game with friends we are pretty series at it, newer tvs introduce input lag so they only will play on a crt but the exception when we use to play at my house with the Plasma because I believe and told them plasma don't have lag for this game and we didn't notice any.
Now of course with a monitor in an arcade like my friends VS city and my ex NAC the image was stable and ahh so nice looking. what is causing such a difference in quality? Why do monitors looks so amazing for these 2d animated games. Man I rather hook it back up to my Plasma
IS it really this bad? or maybe a setting on the tv? I turned down sharpness etc but yeah just looks gross...
I was thinking of building a raspberry pi with retro Pi for this tv but I am afraid it will just looks as bad.. yeah I miss my Arcade Cab with that sweet monitor...
EDIT: SO I switched to the component cable and it looks better, still some bouncing around with the life bars but a lot more stable... less jumpy overall

It's displaying at 480i rather than 240p perhaps?

Re: CRT TV xbox 360 SD gaming......
I have a similar thing with my ps3 using svideo input on this old RCA tv I'm using in my cruisn driving cab...
Its minor, but I would assume eye fatigue is accelerated and sometimes makes me think about going LCD with a ps3 source input....
