Best paint for coin doors?
I have a Wells-Gardner coin door, early 90's that had a bit of rust on it. I've cleared it off, but I don't know what the best paint would be for it. What have you all used in the past that would keep it close to the original finish?

I used Rust-Oleum 2X semi-gloss black on an atari coin door, and it came out pretty nice. The trick is to make sure you don't sand off the original texture.
YMMV.

This coin door that I'm working on was involved in a theft attempt. It was hoofed in and pried, and with that the rust went under the orange peel, and large bits chiped off.

I agree with the hammered finish. Silver Matrix turned me onto it and I really like how they turn out.

The Rust-o-lium or the Tremclad one for the hammered? Or do the act the same?

I prime and then spatter prime the second prime coat (instead of hammered - it looks better) and then finish it with the Rust-Oleum 2x Canyon black Satin. To spatter prime just push the spray can's button down til the paint spatters out, it'll make little bubbles on the door. Practise on something first.
Easier is getting someone to powder coat it.
