Golden Tee help

Posting for a friend.

I've never worked on. GT before

Here is the description he gave me as to what is going on.

"So the GT is freezing up on me. When I turn it on everything is normal, it runs through the startup procedure as normal. Select number of players, course, game type etc. Then when it goes to the Course high score screen, it freezes. Sometimes it continues to first tee shot but as soon as the ball stops rolling it freezes then. The game never gets past player 1’s tee shot."

Any suggestions?

Is this gt fore series? If so I would suspect hard drive with those symptoms.
