Cool video!
Thanks for posting!
However, It drove me nuts that the one guy was using a soldering gun for repairs.

NP, because I am not aware of proper repair technique i guess, what is wrong with using a solder gun? how should or what is the proper way to repair that section?

Coils are probably OK to use a soldering gun... but smaller items should use a soldering iron/pen due to smaller areas/finer detail and you don't want to overheat components.

Personally, the soldering iron stuff didn't bother me. It's the fact that they didn't use Cooke when repairing the machines that seemed odd.....

Interesting, so many connectors and parts. man that looks very intimidating and complicated I don't even know basic electronics. Could not imagine that kind of job.

You do enough repairs over the years, you learn what to look for..
And where not to stick your fingers... CRTs anyone?

Yep that and large capacitors.
Re: The Pinball Doctors: The Last Arcade Technicians in NYC
Curious (right in first few minutes of video) how they can make the claim that the # of people capable of repairing pinball machines is as low as they think/say it is? Maybe #'s are low for those who actually make a living doing it, considering how many hobbyists like ourselves repair and maintain these too.
