I know there's some folks who visit here but not necessarily Facebook, so I'd just like to share that I'm now carrying Cap Kits for Arcade Monitors in my online shop. Mostly just common WG, Electrohome, Sanyo 20 EZ kits but if there's enough interest I'll broaden the scope.

Yeah it's been up for almost a year now, slowly building up product selections, but getting close to where I want it to be. :)

PM me your number, I got a new phone and lost your contact info, or shoot me an email sales@arcadebuilders.ca

Can you tell us a bit about the cap quality and brand and whatnot? Are you using high quality caps?

Actually yeah, this was the first question I had when I saw your post. If you could shed some light on this that would be awesome!

I just had a quick conversation with Ross over on Facebook,

I get my cap kits from Zanen Electronics in Texas currently so unfortunately don’t have control over individual components in the kits. Currently it’s a mixed bag of caps, some Nichicon and some generic Chinese caps. I’m intending to put some premium kits together in the future with some standardization and some suggested additional parts.

Not bad actually! Zanen kits are decent, so pretty cool. Also he's out of Woodstock, Ontario! so that's pretty cool for you guys in the East. Quick shipping I'm guessing to Alberta too. Nice mix of Ultimarc and Mikes Arcade parts too it looks like, so i can get behind that for sure!

Thanks Chance! I don't check here nearly as often as I used too, blame Facebook! Aubrey (Zanen) was recommended to me as a source for kits by Mike from Mikes Arcades. Aubrey is an old timer who's been repairing arcades for about 30 years and providing kits for a long time as well. Zanen has been mentioned many times on KLOV as well as by repair guru's like Randy Fromm. I think Zanen and Bob Roberts were the only sources of kits for quite a while until more recent years.

Premium kits will be down the road a bit so for now I'm just stocking the Zanen kits, still looking to source flybacks, width coils and other chassis service parts but no ETA on those either at this time.
