CRT monitor repair needed

Postby Robn » Thu Oct 24, 2019 7:45 pm

Hello all,

I have 3 cabinets that all require CRT repair. The tubes are in tact but the images are scrambled.
One Dig Dug converted to 60 in 1
One generic 60 in 1
One original Atari tempest.

I am willing to pay for travel and lodging if needed.

Please PM.

Thanks,
Rob

This looks like a software issue
New Astro City, CMVS, JAMMA Saturn & Genesis, MiSTer, PVMs: 2030, 1954Q, 2x 8044Q, 9L2, 9L3, + Extron Crosspoint

There are 3 monitors doing the same thing? That's very unlikely. 2 of these cabinets have 60-in-1's, those boards are probably too young to develop a display issue. I'd suggest adjusting some pots on the monitor pcbs but probably the reason you're asking for a pro to look at them is you don't know much about monitor guts (me either). The 60-in-1's have VGA output so if you hook up a regular pc monitor to that and you get a picture, that would at least clear those boards as being the cause of the issue. But you may have already done this. :? Also Tempest is a vector monitor which will be a different monitor type than those used in the other cabinets, luckily a lot is known about them since atari made a lot of them and the vector monitor was used in other vector games -- so hopefully a vector expert can see this (and probably need a picture of the display from that specific monitor)

Thank you for the feedback. I will take a look for a VGA port.
The other machines are in another building and I haven't been able to take a picture yet.
