need help with monitor picture (galaga cocktail)

Postby chromizone » Thu Aug 26, 2004 10:23 pm

My
buddy is looking to me to solve a problem hes having with his galaga cocktail table machine. I've looked at it and it's seems the the image is too far off
screen ( up and right ). now I think this is a simple vertical and horisontal adjustment and I think his monitor is fine.

If so, how can he get at the
vertical and horisontal controls in his machine? I'm sure he has to open her up correct?

If not what could be the problem here?

Thanks
guys.

Oh and BTW if he can't fix it I'm making him an offer on it lol.

Yes, you are going to have to open it up. If you
go in through the coin door, there are two latches that hold the top down. Release them and then *gently* pivot the top and monitor away from the coin door
(it's an assembly). You should be able to get at everything now.
This was probably nothing more than a +1 post.

First I think you should sell it to someone else in Toronto for a case of beer (like me!)
:)

Seriously, all the adjustments are on the back of the monitor. Some monitors (or some modified monitors) have a remote fingerboard that can
control these things.

It might be a good idea to figure out the type of monitor and get some schematics (off the web) for it. That will explain
setup, troubleshooting, options etc....

And as long as you only touch the potentimeters, you can adjust the monitor while it is on.

Also, this
may sound stupid, but make sure the black bezel that surrounds the monitor hasnt shifted, giving the illusion oif the monitor being off. I've seen that
before.
