Handheld electronic games ...?

Postby OTTOgd » Sun Sep 18, 2016 9:57 pm

Found and improved the 5 Colecos I was hunting ... and couldn't resist a new batch of games.

Anyone else into these?

Yes, I have the Colecos (including Zaxxon!) and lots of Entex (including Stargate!).

My duplicates are for sale:

They had a small handheld section back at Game ON 2.0 at the Ontario Science Centre in 2013 too:

Yeah I saw those at the exhibit and felt old. "Parts of my childhood are now museum relics!"

It funny to see Blip and Digital Derby in there. They are purely mechanical games (except for the red LED light in Blip).

Nice collection Kev!
Now I'm going to have to go through my drawers and find all of mine (and make sure that I removed the batteries!)

I saw the ad for that collection. Glad someone who knew how to restore them picked them up.

Damn you. Now I have to check mine for batteries. I know I've removed them. But I have to check anyways.

Thanks, Dave!

Worked on Digital Derby for a while, fixing the steering wheel and unprotected wire, but still doesn't register collisions well. Light will come on but Game Stop Coil doesn't fire for some reason. Can't see the issue, darnit. Have to break out the DMM. Anyone have schematics? :)

I'm planning on soldering in AC adapters for battery-less games!

I have a Tomy Blip too that doesn't want to light... suspect a broken wire on the bulb (or LED if I'm lucky!)
Looks like I'll have some projects to work on this weekend!

Davester.

EDIT: Just watched the commercial... I guess it is an LED! Love how they call it a "digital" game...

Got 350 bucks and want Pac-Man with the box, french decals, styrofoam, and manual?

Or if you just got 200 and can make the trip to Port Perry:
