NEW SNES REGION MOD (Updated Feb 16, 2005)

Postby silver_surfer » Thu Feb 03, 2005 2:17 am

Hey,

I came up with a completly new BETTER super nintendo region MOD!!! This one will play all games NTSC & PAL
(including Mario RPG)!! Just clip off the Lock Out chip completely and then run a wire from pin 10 on the lockout chip (CHIP "U8") to PIN 4 on the chip "U10"
and thats it!! It works perfect too!! Here is a screen shot of german PAL smurfs (PAL exclusive) and the MOD I did. This is my idea so if your gonna use
these pics or my MOD specifications on any other web page please note where the idea came from (me :D )

Cheers & Enjoy!!

Shawn

I've seen
that before on the net. It's not new. It does work too, and I THINK it works with Terranigma, which is of course the only PAL SNES game worth modding a
system for ;)

P.S. Terranigma works and Kirby's Dreamland 3 &
Kirby Superstar both work also (self tested) So there is some more games the "gamex" MOD doesn't do that this one will

P.S.

Terranigma
ROCKS !! :!:

I suppose a Terranigma screen shot would wow the SNES mod world!

Maxlords you have just
contradicted your self (see above quotes). In your case I think you might want to do the MOD and buy your own copy of terranigma so you can settle this
disagreement you have with yourself.

Helps to have a
handy little thing called reading comprehension, SS. My first post said I "THINK" it works. Then I asked around and was told it doesn't, which it
specifies in my second post. When you read ALL of the words, sentences make more sense :)

Anyway, I can't afford a copy of Terranigma right now.
And I don't do mods myself...ever.

Well I guess seeing that you can't afford Terranigma right now and you
are unable to preform even the most simple hardware MOD you should stop flapping your gums in a tech posting then cause your negativity is enough to make me
sick. I read every word you wrote, I just don't like what you have to say about any of the topics I find realavent right from the time I joined CGCC cause
it seems all you have to say in my opinion is BS or at a minimum trying to downplay what has been said so why don't you go bitch about famicom games instead
or something? You seem pretty good at that. My God, to think I made a post about a simple SNES MOD to "be friendly" and try to show an easier way to do
something. Are you this much of a tool in real life too or just when your hiding behind your PC Screen? I'm kinda stocked up on tools right now and don't
think I need a maxlords but could you pass me a phillips?

Steve,

I have seen a few on Ebay.co.uk recently
for 17 to 24 euros BIN. Labels are a little iffy but still worth it. I have how did you put it "piloted" SNES disk copy of terranigma myself just waiting for
a 20 Euro BIN that is in a bit better condition before getting a legit copy seeing as I already have it "piloted". So I cannot say that legit copies work
with this MOD yet but the Pilots do
