Events in the Maritimes?

There seem to be frequent, or at least regular, gaming shows, sales, and other events in Southern Ontario. What about elsewhere in the country? I spent about 23 years in Alberta, and in all of that time there was only one public video game-related event that I was aware of -- an arcade game show in ...

Re: Toilets in video games.

The original Rampage arcade game (1986) included toilets.

The monsters could eat them (but they would get sick from doing so).

The VV in NE Calgary usually has a selection of PS 2 and Xbox titles on the shelf -- though usually just sports games and music games. There is less in terms of hardware, but I usually see at least one battered Xbox console and some original PSX consoles. As for resellers, I was at a flea market rec...

I'm 40+ and I have utterly no interest in anime (though I do rather like Japanese RPG games).

I watched Star Blazers on television around 1980, but that is the extent of my exposure to the genre.

I got my Atari and most of the games from Consumer's Distributing, but I have several boxed games (that I subsequently bought at garage sales, etc.) with Canadian Tire price tags. Some years ago, I saw a Vic 20 at a rummage sale. It included a cassette tape (presumably of various games) with a Canad...

Has anybody here ordered from them?

Any issues with them shipping to Canada? (The website indicates that they will do so.)

Anybody in Halifax?

This is a rather unsual request, but I need someone in Halifax to check if a building is still standing. I've been told that the house that I grew up in has recently been demolished, and I'd like to independently verify that fact. All I need is someone to drive by the municipal address for me and te...

A local chairty had their semi-annual "garage" sale yesterday. There was tons of old PC stuff and a huge pile of Xbox controllers. I found a Genesis controller for $.25 and (drumroll, please) Ultima VII: Part 2: The Serpent Isle for $1.00! This latter is in the original large-box version c...

HMV still has some PS 2 titles on clearance -- mosty sports and music games, of course.

I found Monster Lab for $2.50. Not a game that I would normally buy, but it's hard to say no at that price.

Ok, that clarifies things. I have not seen most of these titles before so I assumed that they were "new".

Source for New PS 2 games

I was under the impression that software for the PS 2 was no longer being produced, other than a few sports games and the like -- I have certainly not seen anything new in stores in a very long time. That said, the official websites lists several recent new releases that look very appealing: http://...

My collection is much smaller than that of many hardcore collectors -- just the Atari 2600 (ca. 140 cartridges), PlayStation (89 titles), and PS 2 (140 titles). I used a spreadsheet to list the titles that I have for each system. When I am going to the flea market, etc. I will take a printed copy, b...

Game Finds: December 26 - 31

I happened upon a Downtown pawn shop yesterday afternoon. To my surprise, this place still stocked PS 2 games.

JamPack Summer 2001 -- $5

I am now only about 2 or titles away from having all of these demo disks.
