Anyone have a spare 60-in-1 they can sell me?

Going to 60-in-1 my Galaxian, but build a new control panel so I can change back to dedicated if I want. Covid has put a dent in the discretionary income column though, so I'm starting with the board first (ok second, I have a ps and jamma conversion kit on the way) so I can at least play a couple o...

Re: Galaxian PCB Repair

It will probably come to that once I've got it looking a little better - the art is pretty rough and the coin door ain't too pretty - but I think I owe it to the old machine to at least look into getting it running right first. Function-wise, that's all that's wrong. Monitor is decent, all controls ...

Galaxian PCB Repair

Hi, longtime lurker here that just got into this hobby by buying that Galaxian that was on Kijiji in Ontario recently. I think there's an issue with the board - there is a graphics issue that doesn't seem monitor-related. The game boots and plays fine, but there is a horizontal white line that start...

If you don't get any takers and you're only minimally skilled wIth a soldering iron you can take the power cord from that roller controller and attach it to your colecovision steering wheel so you don't need to use batteries anymore. Let me know if you want instructions on that.

It's a beauty alright. I don't know if you want to 'abuse' your vintage Trinitron with video game signals but I just love how my ColecoVision looks on an old CRT set. Classic gaming the way it was meant to be.

Thanks for the tip jasonec. I'll have to give that one a read. Another good Atari book is called Atari Inc.: Business is Fun . It's written by Marty Goldberg and Curt Vendel. They are both well-known posters at AtariAge, and probably the most knowledgeable people on everything Atari. Curt has almost...

Once you clean it, lube it with a bit of dielectric grease. The original grease drying out and gunking up the contacts is what often messes with the switch. A tip: when putting the CV back together, don't tighten the screw that is directly beneath the power switch too much otherwise it makes the swi...

Probably be better than the last 3 anyway.

Christmas Story is also one of my faves. There is pretty much zero chance that the new flick can capture the feel of the original. Eff you sequel-wood!

ColecoVision Super Game Module

For any ColecoVision fans who don't know about the amazing homebrew scene for the CV, Eduardo Mello, aka Opcode Games, the same producer of arcade-perfect translations of Pac-Man and Space Invaders, has been working for the last few years on a hardware module to upgrade the capabilities of the CV wh...

Ran across this the other day:

It's just what it looks like; it can play most tunes from the 8 bit era.

My dad used to work for Canadian Tire when I was small so although he didn't work there anymore by the time video games were popular in the 80's he had some loyalty to the location where he worked. He went there a lot and I remember that I used to always check out their game selection. It was never ...

Tiger Woods Golf uses the WiiMote. I think the re-release of Mario Power Tennis does as well, and so does Mario Super Sluggers (baseball). There's the Deca Sports games, which are sports mini games like Wii Sports and Resort. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Edit: I meant Tiger Wood...

Me too. Getting that cup full of tokens when you got to whomever's party it was such a great feeling of anticipation. My first experience with Dragon's Lair and Space Ace were both there. I played tons of Mappy, Elevator Action, Xevious and one of my faves, Mario Brothers. Even back then that animat...

Davester, you buying or selling ColecoVision? I really only collect CV, and there's usually only a small amount of stuff there. I do have a fair bit of dupes I could bring though if you're buying...
