Check Them Batteries!

Postby Davester » Mon Mar 23, 2020 4:08 pm

Well, with the world situation (and since I'm one of the may that are currently "self-isolated"), I thought I would check all of the batteries in my hand held electronic toys.
Glad I checked! Caught a couple of games (Coleco Pac Man, Big Trak) where the batteries were just starting to corrode/leak.

So since you have a few minutes/hours/days to spare, why not check those toys for future generations (hopefully) and make sure nothing is going bad and causing irreversible damage.

(And for my pinball friends out there... don't forget to check your CPU batteries too!)

Now I'm off to play Blackjack 13 on Merlin.

Cheers!

Davester.

I've ordered tabbed CR2032 batteries to replace in a couple NES cartridges with saves states. The originals still work but they're 30 years old at this point. Hopefully they'll arrive next weekend.

I usually wont leave batteries in anything collectable. The only gaming peripheral I do keep them in is Wiimotes and even then it's probably not the best choice.
